HEALTH AND BODY CARE

EASY WAYS TO MANAGE STRESS

What is stress

Stress is the reaction of body to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response. It is caused by Three factors:

1. The demand on a person's physical and mental abilities;
2. The ability of that person to to meet the demand; and
3. The strength of his preference to fulfill the demand.

For example if a person is required to do something (Demand for activity) which will bring certain desired results (strength of his preference) but he/she is unable, completely or partially, to perform that activity, he/she will feel stress.

Causes and cure for hair fall

HEALTH AND BODY CARE

CAUSES AND SIMPLE WAY TO CURE HAIR FALL

CAUSES OF HAIR FALL

Many people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day, it’s not a problem; problem is when the hair doesn’t re-grow. With the growth of age, hair tends to thin gradually. Other causes include:

1.       Hormonal factors;
2.       Medical conditions; and
3.       Medications.

1.       Hormonal factors

One of the common causes of hair loss is a hereditary condition. In genetically susceptible people, certain sex hormones trigger a particular pattern of permanent hair loss. This type of hair thinning, which is common in most men, can begin as early as puberty.

Hormonal imbalance and changes may also cause temporary hair loss. This could be due to pregnancy, childbirth, discontinuation of birth control pills or the onset of menopause.

2.       Medical conditions

Various Medical conditions can cause hair loss, including:

      a.   Scalp infections. Infections, such as ringworm, can invade the hair and skin of your scalp, leading to hair loss. Once infections are treated, hair generally grows back.

      b.   Thyroid problems. The thyroid gland helps regulate hormone levels in your body. If the gland isn't working properly, hair loss may result.

C.  Alopecia areata. This disease occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles — causing smooth, roundish patches of hair loss.

D.  Other skin disorders. Diseases that can cause scarring, such as lichen planus and some types of lupus, can result in permanent hair loss where the scars occur.

3.       Medications

Hair loss can be caused by drugs used to treat:

a.       Heart problems
b.       Arthritis
c.        Depression
d.       High blood pressure
e.        Cancer

Other causes of hair loss

Hair loss can also result from:

  • Certain hairstyles. Hair loss can occur if the hair is pulled too tightly into hairstyles such as pigtails or cornrows.
  • Hair-pulling disorder. This mental illness causes people to have an overwhelming urge to pull out their hair, whether it's from the scalp, their eyebrows or other areas of the body. Hair pulling from the scalp often leaves patchy bald spots on the head.
  • A physical or emotional shock. Some people experience a general thinning of hair several months after a physical or emotional shock for example sudden or excessive weight loss, a high fever, or a death in the family etc.
  • lack of proper nutrition
  • prolonged illness

THE QUESTION IS HOW TO PREVENT HAIR LOSS AND GET STRONGER HAIR:

There are three ways in which hair loss can be prevented and cured

      1.       General Instructions to prevent hair fall

2.       Natural methods to cure hair fall
3.       Medicine

Other sources of protein are Kidney beans, black beans, chickpeas and green peas. Drink a more water as it makes hair roots strong. Don’t spoil by running into dieting or starving yourself to reduce weight because it has a very harmful effect on your hair.
b.      Beat stress: Stress is a major factor that leads to hair fall. Try to control it with meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.
c.       Get a hair massage: Oil massage is the best treatment that you can give to your hair. Rub oil into your scalp and massage gently for 10 to 15 minutes and leave the oil into your hair for at least one or two hours to restore the moisture of your tresses as this will replenish the hair roots and provide them intense nourishment. You can use massage your scalp with coconut, almond, amla or olive oil.
d.      Hot water baths: Avoid bathing or washing your hair with hot water as hot water opens the pores, making your hair follicles brittle leading to hair fall.
e.      Use of Hair Brush: Use a thick hair brush and not to comb your hair roughly if you are facing hair fall comb your hair softly and gently, it’s your hair not enemiesJ.
f.        Don’t tie too tight: If you have long hair, avoid tying your hair too tight all the time as this can also lead to hair fall as well.
g.       Avoid hair styles: If you really love your hair then please avoid indulging in a lot of hair styling as it damages your hair.
h.      Avoid blow-drying your hair: Blow-drying dries out the scalp and damages hair follicles. Allow your hair to air dry at least part of the time, change the heat setting on your blower to the lowest.
